A new stage for stars and style

6 people

We worked with Swiss publishing house Ringier to relaunch the websites of two of their biggest magazines. For the first time, Schweizer Illustrierte, Switzerland’s biggest people magazine, and SI Style, the most popular fashion and celebrity publication, would combine to create one home for stars and style online.

Beginning with a user research phase and workshops with the editorial team, we developed personas and established the requirements for both sides. We worked agile, and in close collaboration with both Ringier and Unic, who were responsible for backend development. Iterating quickly, we always took into account what we learned along the way.

After just 3 and a half months of design and development, we created the new website in code, migrated all 20,000 articles, and launched the new product without a hiccup.

The new site features rich typography, a smoother user experience and immersive image galleries for users, and a simplified editorial workflow to enable more effective creation of new content for the editorial team. Working in close partnership with the digital editorial team and Ringier stakeholders throughout, we ensured a truly tailor-made product.

The team did a great job in reaching our goal: a fresh, new website, brought to life using state-of-the-art technology.Stefan Regez, Editor-in-Chief, Schweizer Illustrierte
Schweizer Illustrierte Before & After
Schweizer Illustrierte

We believe in a mobile-first approach when building complex websites, and Schweizer Illustrierte was no different. The site is fully responsive, meaning it adapts to the user’s devices rather than following the old model of separate mobile and desktop versions, and we observed an increase in traffic on mobile usage right after the relaunch.
