Disrupting an Intransparent Industry: Welcome to STRADE’s New Marketplace
Most travelers have experienced flight delays. One possible reason is a missing spare part that keeps the airplane grounded. In these situations, every minute counts. Yet, aviation supply chains are long, and parts availability and pricing often intransparent, making quick resolutions difficult. Until now.
STRADE, a Swiss aviation spare parts start-up with roots in SR Technics (dating back to SWISS AIR times), bridges aviation with digital know-how. The STRADE marketing team reached out to Edenspiekermann to reposition the brand and design a disrupting aviation spare parts marketplace that brings radical transparency to the aviation after market.

Creating a foundation for disruption — together
Disruption does not happen overnight. This is the reason why the teams took enough time to diligently analyze the competition and potential value proposition in a close collaboration. We started with internal interviews to ensure alignment across STRADE’s diverse range of international teams. After a swift strategy phase in which we refined the brand strategy and future product experience, the stage was set for the design phase of the new STRADE Marketplace.

Design
It’s more than just a marketplace
Through our interviews and strategy workshop we learned a lot about STRADE’s values and vision. These values were to be translated into a holistic brand and product for the new marketplace that represents STRADE’s inner values. The goal was to create a brand design that combined the brand’s modern approach, technical precision, and human touch. We started by designing STRADE’s new visual brand identity to showcases its modern and technological innovation. With that in place, we bridged the brand and product experience through a set of new UX principles, that reflect STRADE’s innovation.
To introduce the new STRADE Marketplace, a strong digital experience based on an extensive design system and UI kit was at the heart of this project. The new STRADE Marketplace is one that tells stories, that transitions smoothly to STRADE’s main website and ensures a consistent brand experience.

Enable Ownership
Building something with STRADE and not just for them was very important to us. We want STRADE to own and expand our design system and UI kit and not just use it. That is why we partnered up with STRADEs product team. In multiple hands-on working sessions, we build design systems that seamlessly fit into their existing processes. We equipped the team with tools and knowledge to evolve their digital presence independently. Through this process we enabled STRADEs internal ownership.

From strategy to implementation, we guided STRADE in reflecting its disruption of the aviation industry through their brand and UX design. By rethinking how an aviation marketplace looks like, we redefined how aviation companies source their components. In long collaborate working sessions we enabled internal ownership, creating a marketplace that really reflects who STRADE is — an innovative company that sets new standards.
