Typography Rules!

typography rules fontshop

More than ever before people are using fonts and making conscious decisions around them. As the interest for intellectual property in general decreases it gets harder to gain acceptance for licensing, specifically if people want to use a font for several media. At any rate, FontShop has never been about competing against “type discounters” but being a kind of “boutique”.

FontShop’s relaunch is now more of a platform to showcase the beauty of type, to make people aware of its value and to enable foundries to make licensing simpler and help them sell fonts at a fair price. The first step of many until the end of summer is today’s parallel relaunch of a dynamic, clear and clean display of fonts.

Do we have to mention that the relaunch process is an agile one? Or as Ivo Gabrowitsch, FontShopInternational’s Marketing Director, quotes: “The past months have been extremely busy, yet always fun and exciting! I cannot imagine a more efficient way to get a project this scale done other than working with a highly motivated team in an agile process. I love the outcome so far and even more look forward to the coming months and the following feature additions. The team – half FontShop, half Edenspiekermann – did an amazing job!”
