Today, the German Design Awards 2015 are celebrated in Frankfurt/Main. Both our offices in Berlin and Amsterdam won a prize each in the categories “Audiovisual and Digital Media” for ZEIT Magazine ONLINE and “Interactive User Experience” for ProRail.

These are the jury’s statements:

“The newly developed ZEITmagazin ONLINE champions storytelling in a highly responsive design and thus in many respects sets standards. The editors can make use of various narrative formats: large reports, short stories, columns, image and text elements that can be combined in numerous ways as intros, and picture galleries. Formally beyond all doubt, this website also boasts an intelligent concept and well-conceived realization, which in turn is entirely in keeping with the brand.”

Members of the jury: Armin Illion, Prof. Anette Scholz, Caroline Seifert

“The innovative railway orientation system ProRail helps to make boarding and changing trains faster, safer and much more convenient. The solution consists of a clearly structured and intuitively understandable LED strip display above platforms, which provides passengers with all the relevant information, including the occupancy of the respective carriages and compartments. Passengers can board the train at the best point and avoid walking long distances up or down it. A particularly meaningful system, whose service design concept is quickly grasped and which is highly instrumental in facilitating the boarding of trains. An intelligent solution.”

Members of the jury: Prof. Mike Richter, Prof. Eku Wand, Peter Wouda
